The Origins and Power of TRE
TRE (Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises) was developed by David Berceli, who devised a set of exercises to fatigue the body, allowing the natural shaking mechanism to activate in a safe and controlled environment. His work has been incredibly effective, particularly with war veterans overcoming PTSD.
Stress in Modern Life
Even in everyday life, stress can trigger the body’s ancient survival instincts, causing it to react as if in danger. This primitive response, driven by the brain’s limbic system, floods the body with stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline, preparing us for "fight or flight."
Shaking is the body’s way of discharging these hormones and releasing stored tension, helping it return to a balanced state.

TRE stands for Trauma Release Exercises and is an incredibly powerful mechanism to help release tension and trauma that is stored in your body.
TRE can be learned over 3 or 4
sessions. We advise that you book a block of 3 or 4 sessions to begin with.
Once learned, you have this invaluable tool to help cope with stress for the rest of your life and you can safely practice TRE at home for a short amount of time to help overcome stress.
Similar to talking therapies, TRE can go very deep but in a lot less time.

After 18 months of muscle problems causing havoc with my back, legs, trunk, hips and glutes, my mobility had become badly affected. I had tried many physical therapies and committed myself fully to all the regimes recommended without much success.
