He noticed that all people, whatever your culture, religion, react the same way to danger, and children shake.
As we become adults, society tells us that shaking is wrong, even though it's the body's natural method to release stress and trauma. So adults just brace themselves and curl up, in degrees, causing all kinds of bodily disfunction.
David noticed this and devised this set of exercises to tire out the body in order to bring on the natural shake mechanism in a controlled environment.
He has worked extensively with war veterans and has had great success in helping them to get over PTSD.
Modern day stress can also cause the body to react as if in danger, because it is an intrinsic trait that all humans possess to curl up into this ball to protect the organs on the front of the body.
This comes from the ancient part of the brain, which sees stress as danger and just reacts, by flooding the body with stress hormones such as cortisol and adrenalin.
Shaking is a way to release these stuck hormones and release the body of its tension in preparation for fight or flight.
TRE is a powerful healing mechanism which helps to regulate the nervous system and brings us out of the fight flight response and into a more grounded and socially engaged state of being.
TRE can be learned in three or four sessions and can then be used as a tool throughout your life.
As one of a handful of certified TRE providers in Manchester and the North West, I offer one to one TRE sessions to get you started on your journey with TRE.
Once you learn how to instigate the tremors, and control them, you can use this as a stress busting technique for the rest of your life.

TRE stands for Trauma Release Exercises and is an incredibly powerful mechanism to help release tension and trauma that is stored in your body.
TRE can be learned over 3 or 4
sessions. We advise that you book a block of 3 or 4 sessions to begin with.
Once learned, you have this invaluable tool to help cope with stress for the rest of your life.
Once learned, you can safely practice TRE at home for a short amount of time which helps to overcome stress.
Similar to talking therapies, TRE can go very deep but in a lot less time.
TRE is an investment in yourself.
I am based at Yoga Sangha in Cheadle on Wednesday Evenings and Thursday mornings.
I also work out of Chorlton Health Hub on other days.

TRE sessions with Donna have improved my life in many ways, It provides me with an outlet to release the trauma stored in my body.

I developed severe PTSD following a serious assault which left me with a life changing injury.
My life was totally destroyed.
One of my symptoms include tremors and uncontrollable shaking in public places.
I used to be so scared of the shaking my body would do, but after attending TRE sessions with Donna, it has changed my life for the better.
